About the conference
Who is the Widow Warrior Empowerment Conference for?
The conference is for widows. Whether your loss was last month or many years ago, you are welcome. Women come from many churches, backgrounds, and seasons of life, and no one is expected to arrive with their grief tidied up.
Do I have to be a recent widow to attend?
Not at all. Grief does not follow a schedule. Some women join us within weeks of losing their husband, and others come many years later and still find encouragement here. Both are welcome, and both belong.
Is the conference only for women?
The conference itself is for widows, so that the room stays a place where women can speak freely about their experience. Men are warmly welcome to support the ministry through giving, sponsorship, and by encouraging the widows in their own congregations to attend.
What happens during the day?
The day includes worship, messages rooted in hope, breakfast and lunch, and breakout sessions on the practical realities of this season. There is unhurried time for fellowship, because for many women that turns out to be the part that matters most.
Do I need to know someone to come?
No. Many women arrive on their own and leave with people they will keep in touch with. If you would like someone to look out for you when you arrive, let us know beforehand and we will make sure you are met.
Attending
How do I register?
Registration is on our conference page. You can pay online by card, or choose to pay by Zelle, check, or cash and we will hold your seat while payment reaches us.
Can my organization pay by check or request an invoice?
Yes. Choose the option to pay by check when you register, and we will email payment details. If your church or organization needs an invoice first, email us and we will send one.
Can our group sit together?
Yes. Register everyone under one registration where you can, or email us with the names in your group and we will seat you together.
What if I need accommodations?
Please tell us when you register, or email us afterwards. We want to know before the day so we can prepare properly, whether that is seating, mobility access, dietary needs, or anything else that would make attending easier.
Where do I park?
Parking is available at Concord Church at no charge. Directions are on the conference page, and we recommend arriving in good time for breakfast at 8:15 am.
What should I bring?
Just yourself. Meals are provided. Some women like to bring a notebook for the breakout sessions, and a light layer in case the room runs cool.
Will photographs be taken?
Yes, we usually take photographs and video during the day for our recap and for future materials. If you would prefer not to appear in them, tell any member of our team when you arrive and we will make sure of it.
What if I can no longer attend?
Please let us know as soon as you can, using the link in your confirmation email or by contacting us. We will talk through your options, including whether a refund is possible.
Giving and sponsorship
Are donations tax deductible?
JJ Bailey Ministries, Inc. is a nonprofit organization, and gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive an emailed acknowledgement of your gift for your records.
How are donations used?
Gifts go directly into the conference and the work around it: hospitality and meals, venue and materials, breakout resources, and helping women attend who could not otherwise afford to. Every level of giving is described on our conference page.
How can my church or business sponsor the conference?
We would love to talk. Sponsorship helps us serve more widows and keep the cost of attending low. Email us and we will send details of what sponsorship involves and how your organization would be recognised.
Will our organization be recognised?
Yes. Partners giving at our higher levels are invited to share a logo, which we display as part of our thank you to partners during the conference.
Can I give in memory of someone?
Yes, and many people do. Mention the name when you give, or email us afterwards, and we will make sure it is recorded.
Getting involved
Can I volunteer?
Yes, and we are always glad of the help. Volunteers assist with welcome and registration, hospitality, breakout sessions, and prayer. Contact us and tell us a little about yourself.
How can pastors and churches support this work?
Tell the widows in your congregation about the conference, and consider sponsoring seats for those who could not otherwise come. If you would like materials to share with your church, email us and we will send them.
Does JJ Bailey speak at other events?
Yes. Mrs. JJ Bailey accepts a limited number of speaking engagements each year. Email us with your event details and we will respond.
Anything else
How do I reach someone for help?
Email us and someone from the ministry will respond. If your question is about a registration you have already made, mention the name it was booked under so we can find it quickly.
I registered but cannot find my ticket.
Your ticket lives at the link in your confirmation email. If you cannot find that email, use the "find your registration" form on our portal page and we will send you a fresh link.
